Report: Seahawks Spoke To Browns, Buccaneers About Percy Harvin Trade

Despite the fact that the Seattle Seahawks didn't publically place wide receiver Percy Harvin on the trading block before shipping him to the New York Jets, they reportedly did talk to at least two other teams before sealing Friday's deal.

As reported by Mike Florio of NBC's Pro Football Talk, "according to Peter King of TheMMQB.com, the Seahawks also spoke to the Browns and the Buccaneers about a trade for Harvin.  Per King, the Jets ultimately offered the most for Harvin."

Florio points out that if the field of teams in play for Harvin had been much larger, news of Harvin's availability would have likely leaked to the media.

The Bucs' interest in Harvin might raise an eyebrow, seeing that now-Tampa defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier was the head coach during Harvin's reported meltdowns in Minnesota.

The Browns, in Florio's eyes, might have presented a much more logical fit:

Harvin would have been an intriguing addition to the Browns, who eventually will get back Josh Gordon.  Those two players combined with the team the Browns already have put together could have resulted in a reunion with the Seahawks in February, at the Super Bowl.

Regardless of what could have been, Percy Harvin is now a Jet - looking to help Geno Smith take the next step to becoming a viable starting quarterback option in the league.
