This definitely wasn't how anyone drew it up.
After their quarterback completed more first-half passes to the other team (3) than their own receivers (2), the Seahawks used a second-half rally and an improbable onside kick recovery to force overtime, complete an incredible comeback and stun the Packers, 28-22.
Turning Point:
Seattle's comeback attempt went from improbable to miraculous when a botched onside kick recovery fell to the Seahawks and helped them re-take the lead. The onside kick bounced off Packers TE Brandon Bostick's helmet and into the hands of the Seahawks, and just a few plays later Marshawn Lynch rumbled into the end zone to give Seattle their first lead of the game. While the Packers forced overtime, the Seahawks won it there, and they never would have had the chance without Bostick's muffed recovery.
Seahawks MVP:
Marshawn Lynch once again proved himself as one of the game's most dynamic and exciting players. He finished with 157 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries.
Stat of the Day:
Until the final play of the game, Seattle's punter Jon Ryan had thrown more touchdowns than their quarterback. Ryan took the ball on a clever fake FG that put Seattle's first points of the day on the board, and their momentum slowly built from there.
What's Next?
The Seahawks will face the winner of the upcoming Colts-Patriots game in Super Bowl XLIX, while the Packers will have a very hard time getting over this one. From Bostick's muffed recovery to several goal line stands, Green Bay had opportunities to win this game...but it just wasn't enough.
