The Packers lead the Seahawks 16-0 after two quarters, and this game has definitely been a surprising one so far. Here's what we saw in the first half...
Turnovers everywhere!
We knew we were going to see plenty of defense today...but we didn't expect to see two interceptions on the first two drives of the game. First, Aaron Rodgers underthrew a pass in Richard Sherman's general vicinity...and Sherman hauled it in in the end zone to set the Seahawks up at their own 20. Second later, Russell Wilson had a pass tipped, and Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix raced down the sideline before being forced out at the Seahawks' 5-yard-line.
After the Seahawks held at the goal line and the Packers settled for three...Seattle gave it right back with a fumble. Later in the second quarter, the teams traded interceptions AGAIN, Russell Wilson followed that up with ANOTHER pick, and the half ended with six total turnovers between the two teams.
Green Bay's Defense Locks Down
They might not get the same kind of hype as Seattle's Legion of Boom, but the Packers' D is one of the best in the league...and they've played like it so far.
Earth to Russell?
At the end of the first half, Russell Wilson has completed three passes to the Green Bay Packers and two to the Seahawks. His passer rating is exactly 0. If the Seahawks want to defend their title in the Super Bowl, he'll need to have a VERY different second half.
