The Seattle Seahawks' three-game winning streak ended with a 24-20 road loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs, 2-3 going into their bye week, are now 7-3 after racking up five straight wins.
Turning Point:
This one came down to the wire, and it wasn't until Kansas City's secondary stopped Russell Wilson in the closing minutes that the Chiefs finally sealed the deal. However, credit has to go to Kansas City's special teams unit for pinning the Seahawks inside their own five on that decisive drive. Seattle's Ricardo Lockette was ejected earlier for throwing a punch, a moment that also helped swing momentum Kansas City's way.
Seattle MVP:
It's impossible to choose between Russ Wilson and Marshawn Lynch - both had very solid games in an effort where the Seahawks came up just short. Wilson had two touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 20 of 32 passes, and Lynch picked up 124 rushing yards on 24 carries for a 5.2 ypc average.
Kansas City MVP:
Jamaal Charles didn't just play like the Chiefs MVP today - he looked like he could take home the real silverware after the season. Charles had 159 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries, and also hauled in two catches for 19 yards.
Stat of the Day:
Seattle had possession for 35:57 to Kansas City's 24:03, but the Chiefs still won the game thanks to efficient offense and bend-but-don't-break defense. The Seahawks ran 71 offensive plays to Kansas City's 46.
What's Next?
The Seahawks return home to face the Arizona Cardinals in a key divisional matchup, while the Chiefs will head out west to face the Oakland Raiders on the road.
