HBO’s TV show “Hard Knocks” follows an NFL team throughout training camp and the preseason every year, often giving a boost in popularity to the team that volunteers to be featured. Here’s why the Seattle Seahawks are perfect for the show this year:
5) Russell Wilson's contract negotiations
Wilson is heading into the last season of his rookie contract, and negotiations between him and the team have already gone a little bit haywire. Both sides have made...interesting comments about their views of the negotiations, and it seems like a storyline that will play out through training camp and the preseason.
4) Richard Sherman
Sherman is a great player on the field, but he's an even better talker on it. He's sure to give HBO some material fans will love - or love to hate.
3) Intense Practices
Much has been made of Pete Carroll's laid back demeanor, but one thing he's known for are how intense and physical his practices are. Fans of the show are tired of watching the traditional drills most teams go through, and the Seahawks would give the show a new, exciting, hard-hitting flavor.
2) Marshawn Lynch
Lynch stole the show during last season's playoff run because of his unwillingness to talk to the media, and turned a spotlight on his surprisingly jovial personality. He'll be someone fans would love to follow both on an off the field.
1) Last season's Super Bowl loss
Seattle narrowly missed out on winning their second straight Super Bowl because of the interception Wilson threw at the goal line with 20 seconds left. While this probably wouldn’t be a long storyline during the show, it would be gripping television when they explore it.
