Which Seattle Seahawks players are people sleeping on that will surprise the NFL in 2018? There are a lot of Seahawks rumors swirling around Seattle with all the big time moves the team has made this offseason, but not nearly enough around some sneaky good players who could emerge in 2018. If the Seahawks want to improve on their 9-7 season from 2017 and make the playoffs in 2018, they will need some unexpected players to step up. Here are three Seahawks' sleepers to keep an eye on in 2018:
1) Tyler Lockett, WR
No more Paul Richardson in Seattle, which means it's time for Tyler Lockett to step up and be the field stretcher the Seahawks need. Lockett had a solid rookie season in 2015 hauling in 51 balls for 664 yards and six touchdowns. Since that season he has scored only three touchdowns and hasn't surpassed 45 catches or 600 yards. With more targets funneling his way, this may be the real Lockett lives up to some of his hype.
2) Chris Carson, RB
The Seahawks selected Rashaad Penny 27th overall in the draft. He was the second running back selected behind only Saquon Barkley. Penny led college football last season with 2,248 rushing yards from San Diego State, but was projected to be a second or third round pick. He is an upright runner who possesses straight line speed and is arguably the worst pass blocker amongst the running backs in this year's class. If Penny disappoints, Carson may find himself getting more playing time. Before getting injured last season he was averaging 4.2 yards per carry.
3) Jaron Brown, WR
As stated above Paul Richardson is gone, but so is tight end Jimmy Graham. Graham leaves behind 10 touchdowns, which could help a big receiver like Brown increase his touchdown totals. He stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 204 pounds, which is easily the biggest receiver for Russel Wilson.
