The Seattle Seahawks were written off by many after a topsy-turvy start to this season, but it's time to recognize just how dangerous the reigning NFC champions are heading towards January. Here are 3 Reasons Why The Seahawks Will Win The Super Bowl:
3) Russell Wilson's greatness
Russell Wilson's athleticism and on-field decision making are fantastic enough. However, it's his unflappable confidence and beyond-his-years veteran presence which puts this team over the top. There's no quarterback in this league who goes about his business quite like Russell Wilson does, and that uniqueness is essential to what this whole Seahawks operation is all about.
Throw in his elite playoff experience and recent hot streak (1,420 passing yards, 19 TDs, 0 INTs over last five games), and you have a man who is poised to take over the postseason.
2) Championship defense
The Seahawks defense has found its sea legs once again after an uneven start to the 2015 season, and that's going to spell trouble for anyone who gets in their way this postseason. Once Seattle gets the pass rush moving like it has during its recent hot streak, the Legion of Boom gets that much tougher to shake on the back end.
Would you bet against this Seahawks defense against any NFC offense going today? Even the Packers are vulnerable due to a high-and-go-seek running game.
1) Pete Carroll
With Pete Carroll at the helm, Seattle will never fall behind the eight ball when it comes to in-game shifts in planning. If constant variations of the QB read option are getting the job done, he'll make it happen. If the team needs to shift gears and air it out, he has the innate ability to pick it up right before the opposing team catches on. He's got the chops and the talent to counter any in-game difficulty with ease, which we've seen do wonders for the Seahawks in the postseason.
