The Seattle Seahawks are closing in on a playoff appearance, and their momentum isn't going to stop with an awful Cleveland Browns team visiting on Sunday. It's going to be ugly...for Cleveland. Here's 3 Reasons Why The Seahawks Will SHUT OUT The Browns.
3. Pete Carroll vs. Mike Pettine
Carroll is the single most underrated head coach of the modern NFL era. His ability to innovate in the film room while keeping his finger on the pulse of the guys in the locker room is as impressive as it gets.
Mike Pettine? He rivals San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula when it comes to "lost puppy" looks on the sidelines. Every time something goes bad for the Browns (which is often), we feel actively bad for the guy. However, our sympathy does not equate to either points or wins.
2. 12th Man
Want a recipe for a blowout? Throw the NFL's worst team in front of a rabid 12th Man already shifting into playoff mode. Every sit down and watch one of those NFL bloopers shows that the NFL Network plays in place of late-night informercials? The Browns' 60 minutes on the field at CenturyLink will give them plenty of material going forward, with a roaring/laughing Seahawks crowd in the background.
1. How Can The Browns Actually Score?!?
Johnny Manziel is only making the seventh start of what's been the definition of an up-and-down beginning to his NFL career. Cleveland has next to no running game, ranking 30th in the NFL with 85.9 yards per game. In fact, there really isn't an actual offense in Northeast Ohio -- Cleveland is 29th with 18.5 points per game.
The Browns had their best performance of the season last week in a 24-10 win over the 49ers, but there's very few teams around who wouldn't have a season-best game against that 49ers squad. Seahawks elite defense + playoff push + horriawful (horrible + awful) Browns offense = SHUT OUT
