The Seattle Seahawks got on the winning track last week with a 26-0 home drubbing of the Chicago Bears. Sitting at 1-2 and staring up at the Arizona Cardinals at the top of the NFC West, the time is now for the Seahawks to reassert themselves as the class of the division. That means major trouble for the team's Week 4 opponent, the Detroit Lions. Here's 3 Reasons Why The Seahawks Are GUARANTEED To Beat The Lions.
1. The Defense Is Awake
You can call it the Luck of Clausen if you want to, but Seattle's defense absolutely SMOTHERED the Bears last week, giving up a miniscule 146 total yards on defense. The Detroit Lions offense is much more potent, but something has clicked with the team's D that will spell the doom of any attack that crosses their paths right now. Seattle was embarassed in giving up nearly 60 points over the first two weeks. They'll be ready in Week 4.
2. Russell Wilson Effect
For the Lions defense to be effective, they need to be able to bend for long enough to create turnovers off fleeting opponent mistakes. Too bad they have to face Russell Wilson this week -- the best game manager in all of the NFL. Wilson rarely makes catastrophic mistakes. Even if he dinks and dunks against the Lions, it'll be effective enough to keep the Lions defense on their heels.
3. Lions vs. The 12th Man
This Lions team isn't good. Sorry to burst the bubble of the Motown faithful, but the team that showed up on Sunday Night Football against the Broncos last week is a shell of the squad that made the playoffs last year. What makes anyone think that they'll magically get better in the clutch against a prime-time boosted 12th Man on Monday Night Football? Not realistic.
