The Seattle Seahawks have been snake-bitten over the first two weeks of the 2015 NFL regular season, but that's no reason to jump off the 12th Man Express. Tough losses happen, sometimes in twos, and it just so happens that Seattle's down ebb has occurred to open off the season -- a time when everyone overreacts about the slightest bit of adversity. Come Sunday against the Chicago Bears, all will be orderly and right again for the defending NFC champions. Here's 3 Reasons The Seahawks Are Guaranteed To Beat The Bears.
1. Some Home Cooking
The Seahawks haven't exactly looked horrible for the first two weeks. They've just run into a pumped-up Rams team and a juggernaut-in-waiting Packers team on the road. Now they're headed home to face a Chicago Bears team that is just a lit match away from a full-on dumpster fire. The Vegas line for this game currently has the Seahawks as two-touchdown favorites. Get in on that betting action before it inches closer to three touchdowns.
2. No Jay Cutler
Don't buy Chicago's evasiveness about whether or not Jay Cutler will start while nursing a hamstring strain. He won't. That puts the offense in the hands of Jimmy Clausen (more on him later) and single-handedly neuters what's already been a sketchy offense for the Bears. The Cutler hate will always be there, but there's no denying just how much he stretches the field when he's given a chance to air it out. No Cutler = no chance for the Bears.
3. Jimmy Clausen
In relief of Jay Cutler last week, Clausen went 14-of-23 (60.9%) for a meager 121 yards and one touchdown. To put that into perspective, Clausen would have had to throw in the neighborhood of 60 times at the rate to even sniff 300 yards passing. The former Notre Dame standout and entrenched NFL backup can't do much more that hit safe throws and the occasional timing route 10-15 yards out. That'll allow a returning Kam Chancellor and the Seahawks' Legion of Boom to pinch up and suffocate both the Bears' rushing and passing attacks.
