The 2017 NFL Draft will start in just under a month, and there will be plenty of trades. That's just the nature of the draft, although those trades are very difficult to predict. One team that could make some noise is the Seattle Seahawks, as the front office has shown a penchant for wheeling and dealing.
To help determine the value of each pick and what it would cost to move up or down, we're using the NFL trade value chart. While the trade values won't match up exactly, we tried to get them as close to even as possible. With that in mind, here are three trades the Seahawks could make during the NFL Draft.
3. Trade Down In 3rd Round
Colts Get: 3rd round pick (No. 102 overall)
Seahawks Get: 4th round pick (No. 121 overall) and 4th round pick (No. 144 overall)
I know, this one is kind of boring, but it makes sense. The Seahawks are without a 4th or a 5th this year, thanks to last year's draft day trade with the Patriots (4th rounder) and as punishment for violating offseason workout rules (5th rounder). This move gets Seattle two fourths, one in the middle of the round and one at the very end. The Colts have three fourth round picks in total, allowing them to package some to move up. With the salary cap starting to squeeze Seattle, getting more picks will help them keep depth.

2. Trade Up In Round 1
Lions Get: No. 26 overall and 3rd round pick (No. 102 overall)
Seahawks Get: No. 21 overall pick
If the Seahawks want one of the top three offensive tackles, they might need to trade up come draft day. The Broncos, Giants, Texans and even the Raiders could all add an OT just before Seattle picks. This move allows Seattle to move up ahead of all but the Broncos and snag one. As a bonus, they could swipe Forrest Lamp from the Dolphins (picking 22nd) if they want with this move. With three late third round picks, Seattle will be in position to move up a few spots in the first.
1. Trade Down In Round 1
Bears Get: No. 26 overall and 3rd round pick (No. 102 overall)
Seahawks Get: 2nd round pick (No. 36 overall) and 3rd round pick (No. 67 overall)
If one of the top three offensive tackles are off the board, the Seahawks could elect to trade down into the early second round and take a corner (or different OT) there. A prime candidate to move up is the Chicago Bears, who could look to get back into the first round for a QB. This gets them ahead of teams like the Chiefs, Steelers, Saints, Browns and 49ers, who could all look at a QB. This ends up being similar to when the Seahawks traded down with Denver last year, who took Paxton Lynch. But this time, it lets the Seahawks move from the back of the 3rd all the way to the top.
