AUBURN, Wash. (KOMO) -- Police in Auburn are investigating a woman who they believe used her dog to obtain pain medication from at least two veterinary clinics in Pierce County.
"I haven't heard of this before and for our animal control officer it is the first he has heard of it," said Commander Mark Callier. "Hopefully it is not going to be a trend for us."
According to investigators, the woman visited the Auburn South Veterinary Clinic at least three times asking staff to refill a pain pill prescription for her dog. Staff and doctors became suspicious of the woman and contacted Auburn Animal Control.
