Coming into the 2021 season, Mariners fans were elated about the opportunity to see a certain 6’5″, maple leaf tattoo-sporting left-hander retake the mound in Seattle. I hope they had fun during the 1.1 innings it lasted for James Paxton.
During Tuesday night’s game against the Chicago White Sox, James Paxton (affectionately known as “Big Maple”) left the field early due to significant left elbow discomfort; a grim spectacle for those familiar with Paxton’s injury-riddled career.
