It seems weird and a bit surreal that such an exalted season for the Golden State Warriors ended so emptily.
After so much glory, just pain. After so many accolades, now so many questions. After so much winning, the Warriors’ year will be defined by losing.
Weird, but not unfamiliar. The Mariners went through much the same thing in 2001, when they won 116 games, more than any American League team ever and matching the 1906 Chicago Cubs for the most in baseball history.
But just like the Warriors, the Mariners chose the worst possible time to let down.
