PORTLAND (WGME) -- Construction crews made a sweet discovery at a site in Portland, Maine.
Workers doing a renovation job discovered a massive beehive at a former church.
Crews on the scene found the hive after they noticed a large number of bees coming and going from the building.
Professional bee keepers were called in to remove the hive, which contained between 50 and 80 pounds of honey and nectar.
Experts say the hive was made up of 100, 000 Italian honeybees.
The bees were relocated to a local bee keeper's property.
