It’s the much-anticipated second episode of what we are now calling the “Extra Innings” podcast — a show focusing on Major League Baseball and the Seattle Mariners.
This week the podcast opens a new segment: “Spelling with Stoney,” where columnist Larry Stone is quizzed on how to spell the names of certain baseball players. Stone also discusses a little bit about the Mariners’ activity or lack thereof at the MLB Winter meetings and the big bucks being given to closers this offseason.
The larger segment of the show is dedicated to a conversation with the Associated Press’ Tim Booth, who discusses his job, his hometown of Ellensburg and the dining options there, his favorite band — Pearl Jam — and most importantly his Baseball Hall of Fame ballot.
