TACOMA — Cody Martin pitched a solid seven innings, giving up just one earned run, but his Tacoma Rainiers still fell 2-1 to Fresno in Pacific Coast League baseball Monday night.
Martin, a possible call-up for the Mariners if Taijuan Walker’s foot injury knocks him out of a start, allowed four hits to the Grizzlies (32-37) and struck out seven with no walks.
Stefen Romero accounted for the Rainiers’ (39-31) only run with a solo homer in the ninth.
