The Tacoma Rainiers closed out the first half of the season with an 8-2 victory over the Sacramento River Cats on Sunday afternoon at Raley Field.
Tacoma (49-40) starting pitcher Jordan Pries (2-1) earned his second win of the year after holding Sacramento (38-53) to two runs on six hits over six innings. He walked two and struck out four.
Seven Rainiers batters recorded multiple hits as the offense had 17 hits. First baseman D.J. Peterson was 3 for 5 with one run and two RBI. Patrick Kivlehan tripled and doubled.
The Rainiers will return to action Thursday after the All-Star break.
