Tacoma Rainiers lose series finale in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – The Tacoma Rainiers lost a Pacific Coast League series finale against the Las Vegas 51s 4-3 on Tuesday afternoon at Cashman Field.

Rainiers starting pitcher Rob Whalen turned in his team-leading sixth quality start of the season. He worked six innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits while striking out four.

Tacoma had seven hits, all singles. Left fielder Adam Law went 3 for 4 with an RBI. Law is 8 for 12 (.667) in three games for the Rainiers this season.

The Rainiers (27-26) return home to Cheney Stadium to open a five-game series against the Salt Lake Bees on Wednesday.
