Tacoma Rainiers fall behind in second, can’t catch up in 8-4 loss

TACOMA — Rainers starter Joe Wieland could not make it out of the second inning and Tacoma lost 8-4 to the Sacramento River Cats on Saturday night at Cheney Stadium in a Pacific Coast League game.

Wieland allowed six runs in the second inning before being relieved with two outs and Tacoma trailing 7-2.

Stefen Romero was 2 for 4 for the Rainiers and raised his batting average to .414 (24 of 58).
