The Tacoma Rainiers could not capitalize on 11 walks in a 5-2 loss to the Las Vegas 51s on Wednesday afternoon at Cheney Stadium.
Third baseman Seth Mejias-Brean (2 for 3) reached base four times to lead the Rainiers offense. Center fielder Andrew Aplin went 2 for 4 with one walk.
Rainiers starting pitcher Ariel Miranda – who came off the seven-day disabled list earlier Wednesday – worked one inning and allowed one run on one hit while walking three and striking out one.
Jeff McNeil had two doubles among his three hits for the 51s.
