Stan Naccarato, the former president and general manager of the Tacoma Twins, Yankees, Tugs and Tigers, died at Tacoma General Hospital on Wednesday morning. He was 88.
“Stan was a wonderful friend and mentor, a leader of not only this organization for decades, but for the entire city,” Tacoma Rainiers president Aaron Artman said. “He loved Tacoma maybe even more than he loved the Rainiers. We will honor him for the remainder of the 2016 season and remember the impact that he had on this city and this franchise forever.”
Naccarato was honored with the 1975 Minor League Baseball General Manager of the Year Award, the Larry McPhail Promotional Award and the Sporting News General Manager of the Year Award.
