When the COVID-19 shutdown disrupted almost every aspect of our lives last spring, the Seattle Mariners readily agreed to a most unusual request — turning T-Mobile Park into a Pop-Up Blood donation center.
Bloodworks Northwest lost 60% of their blood supply overnight when COVID forced cancelation of all mobile blood drives. So, with the Major League Baseball season delayed indefinitely and a normally bustling ballpark sitting idle, Bloodworks proposed opening a temporary donation center at T-Mobile Park.
For Mariners Chairman and Managing Partner John Stanton, the answer was a quick yes.
