Speaking to a group of business leaders as part of the Portland Business Journal’s monthly ‘Power Breakfast,’ Mariners Managing Partner & Chairman of the Board John Stanton shared what it’s like leading the team and why he was drawn to the role.
“I’m the kid who grew up with baseball cards on the floor,” said Stanton in the morning Q&A. “I lived behind Woodridge Elementary (in Bellevue) and I would jump across the fence and, whether the kids were five years older than me or five years younger than me, if there was a pickup game on the baseball field at Woodridge, I’d jump the fence and I’d go play.
