The Seattle Mariners are starting to reopen their spring training facility in Peoria, Ariz. for a limited number of players and staff, a team source confirmed to SeattlePI.
The club is making final preparations to open up its training complex for voluntary workouts — training that could include lifting and running — with individuals and small groups that can begin next week. Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced earlier this month that major sports could return in his state May 16, making steps toward a restart possible.
The Seattle Times first reported earlier Friday that the Mariners were starting to reopen their spring training facility.
