It might not have seemed like much when the Seattle Mariners acquired outfielder Cameron Maybin from the Miami Marlins this week, and like most of you, I did not make much of it. Maybin hit .251 for the Marlins over 99 games and 287 plate appearances, and he stole a disappointing eight bases in 13 attempts. Maybin nearly led the AL in stolen bases last season with 33. He did not do much else for the Los Angeles Angels and Houston Astros, though, and he does not seem like a starting outfielder for a contender at this point of his career.
