SEATTLE -- Mariners shortstop Jean Segura was taken out of Friday's game against the Rangers in the third inning, but only after Seattle scored seven runs in the bottom of the second to tie for its biggest inning of the season.
Segura broke things open with a bases-loaded drive to right field that tipped off the glove of right fielder Nomar Mazara, with the two-base error plating three runs. Segura then scored on a single by Robinson Cano, twisting awkwardly to avoid the tag by catcher Robinson Chirinos.
It's not known yet if Segura was injured on the play, but he exited the game when the Mariners took the field in the third.
