The Mariners announced Tuesday that they have signed right-handed reliever Joel Peralta to a minor-league contract with an invite to spring training.
The 39-year-old Peralta was 3-1 with a 4.34 ERA and three saves in 33 appearances in 2015 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He struck out 24 and walked eight in 29 innings, holding hitters to a .248 average.
Peralta went on the disabled list twice — from April 26 to June 22 (right-shoulder strain) and from Aug. 11 to Sept. 1 (right-neck strain).
He has pitched in the major leagues for 11 seasons with the Angels, Royals, Rockies, Nationals, Rays and Dodgers.
