The Seattle Mariners announced Friday that pitcher Cody Anderson has been released.
The right-hander Anderson, 29, was let go last week, according to multiple reports. He had signed with the Mariners in February as a minor-league free agent and received an invitation to the club's Major League camp.
Anderson pitched three innings with one strikeout in two games with Seattle in the Cactus league before spring training was canceled in light of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Anderson has appeared in parts of three MLB seasons, all with the Cleveland Indians (2015-16, 2019).
