Seattle Mariners hold roundtable discussion to celebrate Jackie Robinson Day

Major League Baseball isn’t able to have its usual celebration of Jackie Robinson Day -- April 15 -- across ballparks this year due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. But the Seattle Mariners have still found a way to commemorate the legacy of the late pioneer.

The Mariners held a roundtable discussion on Robinson’s impact on baseball and society that will be available on the club’s YouTube channel Wednesday. It features three of the team’s African-American players -- Dee Gordon, Mallex Smith and Shed Long Jr. -- joined by former Mariner Harold Reynolds and Negro Leagues Baseball Museum President Bob Kendrick.
