While the Seattle Mariners continue to plunge in the standings, the Jackson Generals, the club's Double-A affiliate, swept the three major postseason awards in the Southern League on Wednesday as they ready for the postseason.
Outfielder Tyler O'Neill was named Most Valuable Player, left-hander Ryan Yarbrough was named Most Outstanding Pitcher and Daren Brown was named Manager of the Year.
It marked a historic achievement for the Generals. No team in the Southern League had won all three major postseason awards since 1991, a feat achieved just three times.
O'Neill, ranked the No. 2 prospect in the organization by MLB.
