Seattle Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto announced Monday that the team acquired right-handed pitcher Adam Warren from the New York Yankees and left-handed pitcher Zach Duke from the Minnesota Twins.
Seattle claimed Warren from the Yanks for International Slot Money ($1.25 million, according to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand). The team received Duke and cash considerations from the Twins for RHP Chase De Jong and minor league infielder Ryan Costello.
Warren, 30, went 0-1 in 24 relief appearances for New York this season. He holds a 2.70 ERA -- nine earned runs in 30 innings pitched -- with 37 strikeouts, 12 walks and 26 hits allowed (three home runs).
