In July of 2023, Seattle will welcome the elite of Major League Baseball as host of All-Star Week.
The awarding of the game was officially announced today by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred at a news conference attended by Mariners executives, Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, King County Executive Dow Constantine, 13 time All-Star Ken Griffey Jr., 7-time All-Star Edgar Martinez, and representatives from the business and hospitality community.
This will be the third time MLB’s Midsummer Classic will be held in Seattle, following the 1979 game in the Kingdome and 2001 at then Safeco Field.
In addition to the All-Star Game, the week of festivities includes the T-Mobile Home Run Derby, SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, All-Star Celebrity Softball, fan events like PLAY BALL PARK and legacy projects that will leaving a lasting impact throughout the host community.
