SURPRISE, Ariz. — The Mariners defeated the Kansas City Royals by an 8–7 score this afternoon at Surprise Stadium. Seattle rallied back from a 5–1 deficit to earn its second win of the spring.
Right-hander Bryce Miller tossed 2.1 innings in his second outing of the spring, striking out two and allowing a pair of home runs to Salvador Perez and Michael Massey. Seattle fell down by a 5–1 score through three frames, with its first run coming via a Samad Taylor solo home run in the third.
The Mariners got a couple more runs back in the fourth with a Ty France double, followed by RBI hits off the bats of Josh Rojas and Ryan Bliss.
