If you were watching yesterday’s telecast of the Mariners game against the Chicago White Sox, you saw a fresh, new on-screen look. ROOT Sports Northwest introduced a new graphics package and animations, the first major change since the regional sports network was renamed ROOT Sports in 2010.
The goal was to update and improve the production of the shows and “to give more of the screen back to the viewers.” The new package includes more iconic graphics, bringing in a mixture of photography and animation to replace the purely animated ones used before.
