The Cubs and Mariners are close to a deal that would include Seattle sending left-hander Mike Montgomery to Chicago a source told MLB.com's Jon Morosi.
Multiple reports said the Mariners would receive a package including Cubs No. 20 prospect 1B Dan Vogelbach, and sources said the trade would include more players.
Neither club confirmed the deal.
