The Seattle Mariners added a veteran presence behind the plate by reportedly agreeing to a deal for catcher Carlos Ruiz.
Veteran MLB reporter Jon Heyman, now with Fan Rag Sports, reported Sunday that M's GM Jerry Dipoto acquired Ruiz, a former All-Star, from the Los Angeles Dodgers via trade. The Los Angeles Times' Andy McCullough reported Seattle will send left-handed reliever Vidal Nuno to L.A. in return.
The Mariners have not yet confirmed the deal.
