Report: Mariners to sign former Federal Way standout Travis Ishikawa to a minor-league contract

Multiple reports indicate the Mariners have reached an agreement with first baseman Travis Ishikawa on a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training. Ishikawa was standout baseball player for Federal Way High School, leading the Eagles to the 4A state title in 2001.

The Mariners will be adding to the first base competition at spring training.

On Saturday multiple reports had the Mariners reaching an agreement with first baseman/outfielder Travis Ishikawa for a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training.

The Mariners would not confirm that a deal had been reached.
