WICHITA, Kan. - Do not adjust your eyes, this isn't the work of Photoshop, it is in fact a baby black rat snake (Pantherophis obsoletus) with a rare condition referred to as Polycephaly, a condition which results in animals being born with more than one head.
Found in the wild and captured by Kansas-based photographer Jason Talbott, who discovered the animal in 2014, a snake with this disorder has a very low survival rate and so the opportunity to photography a live one in such detail is unique.
"One of the first things I noticed when I was asked to photograph this snake was that the heads worked independently," explains Talbott.
