Rainiers wallop Salt Lake Bees with 21 hits

Andrew Aplin, Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Zach Vincej each drove in three runs as the Tacoma Rainiers blasted the host Salt Lake Bees 17-1 Friday night in a Pacific Coast League game.

Nieuwenhuis had four of the Rainiers’ 21 hits. Aplin, who hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning, had three hits and scored three runs, as did John Andreoli.

Starter Casey Lawrence (6-2) went five innings for the Rainiers (39-35), allowing one run and two hits.

AquaSox win

Connor Kopach had two hits and scored three runs as the Everett AquaSox beat the host Vancouver Canadians 4-2 in a Northwest League game.
