RENO, Nev. — Tacoma starting pitcher Sam Gaviglio gave up 10 runs, nine earned, in five innings as the Reno Aces blasted the Rainiers 11-5 in Pacific Coast League baseball Thursday.
The Aces (71-62) scored four runs in the second inning and three more in the fourth to take complete control. Gaviglio gave up 12 hits, but on the bright side he struck out seven and didn’t issue a walk.
Dan Vogelbach had three hits, including a double, and three RBI for Tacoma (75-57). Dae-Ho Lee, Daniel Robertson, Rob Brantly and James Ramsey each had two hits for the Rainiers.
