Stefen Romero drove in three runs as the Tacoma Rainiers beat the Fresno Grizzlies 10-4 Friday night in a Pacific Coast League game at Cheney Stadium.
Boog Powell hit a two-run homer for the Rainiers (38-29). Tyler Smith also had a two-run homer and Dario Pizzano drove in two runs.
Joe Wieland (5-4) went six innings for the win. He scattered seven hits and allowed one earned run. Blake Parker pitched two hitless innings for his 12th save.
The Everett AquaSox opened their season in the Northwest League with a loss. The Mariners’ first-round draft pick, Kyle Lewis, started in center field and went 1 for 4 with a double and a run scored.
