SACRAMENTO — Stefen Romero had a two-run double off three-time major-league All-Star Matt Cain, but it was a tough day for his Tacoma Rainiers, who lost 7-4 to the Sacramento River Cats in a Pacific Coast League game Friday night.
Tacoma fell behind 5-0 through five innings. Romero closed the gap to 5-2 with his double in the top of the sixth, but the River Cats responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning.
Cain is pitching for the River Cats on a rehab assignment.

Mariners reliever Charlie Furbush, pitching with Everett on a rehab assignment, gave up three runs in an inning in the loss for the AquaSox, who were limited to one hit in the opener of a doubleheader.
