Rainiers fall 4-3 at Fresno, Jayson Werth has a double

Reliever Ryan Cook surrendered the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and the Tacoma Rainiers lost 4-3 at Fresno in a close Pacific Coast League game Thursday night.

Outfielder Jayson Werth was 1 for 4 with a double and a run scored in his second game with Tacoma (10-10).

Starting pitcher Christian Bergman allowed three runs in five innings of work. His season ERA is 3.04.

In the bottom of the eighth, Fresno’s J.D. Davis doubled on a line drive past Werth in left field, scoring Tyler White.

The teams play again Friday night.
