Robinson Cano leads the American League in homers with eight and RBI with 24. He also is hitting just .247 with a .319 on-base percentage and .565 slugging percentage. Of his 21 hits, 11 have gone for extra bases. Cano is hitting .280 with runners in scoring position.
“It’s when you get the hits, not just getting the hits for me,” manager Scott Servais said. “He’s had a great first month. I know he’d like to have a few more hits, but I think batting average – as I’ve said all along – is the one stat that is overrated.
