YORK HAVEN, Pa. (WHP) — More than a thousand fish have died in the Susquehanna River due to a glitch at a power plant.
It happened near the plant on Brunner Island in York Haven over the weekend.

A spokesman from Talen Energy says one of the units that powers the plant unexpectedly shut down. Once that happened, the water discharged into the river was not properly processed.
Typically the water discharged into the river would be warm, which is why several fish hang out in the canal.
