Iris Scott foregoes traditional "grown up" painting methods. Rather than using brushes or palette knives, the Brooklyn-based painter takes things back to grade school and uses her fingers.
Though her method is very unusual for oil paints, her vibrant colors and vivid imagery are truly beautiful. According to Scott, painting with her fingers allows her to get closer to her art.
Iris had discovered her own impressionistic style one day when all of her brushes were stained with a deep dark blue and she needed to make a few adjustments to some yellow flowers. She didn't stop to clean the brushes, instead, she used her fingertips to make a few quick retouches, thing that changed the course of her career.
