On Aug. 3, 2005, a story in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer ran with the headline: "Phenom Felix ready to roll - 19-year-old gets the ball tomorrow."
The reporter, then-P-I staff writer and now MLB Network on-air personality Jon Morosi, wrote that the announcement for Felix Hernandez's major league debut was highly anticipated -- though a bit underwhelming.
Morosi wrote that the news "was neither the day's biggest news, nor an official transaction.
"Less than a half hour after Ryan Franklin addressed reporters as he began his 10-day suspension under Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, Hernandez met with the media for the first time as a big-league player.
