During the summer, many kids lose access to nutritious meals through their school nutrition programs. Food banks have to pick up the slack, and for many, peanut butter is a nutrient dense, kid-friendly option.
The problem is that peanut butter is a relatively expensive item for food banks, like Northwest Harvest, to buy.
