Notable

The Mariners got two scoreless innings from starter James Paxton, but the pitchers after him struggled. With a 3-0 lead, veteran right-hander Christian Bergman gave up five runs in the fourth inning and the Mariners never recovered. James Pazos also struggled, pitching just 2/3 of an inning and giving up three runs.

The best work on the mound came from lefty Marc Rzepczynski, who tossed a 1-2-3 third inning with a pair of strikeouts.
